Who?
All members of the Northwestern community including American and international students, faculty, and staff are welcome to volunteer as well as other interested residents of Evanston and surrounding communities.

What?
The volunteering involves accompanying students to various activities including concerts, museums, dinners, and sporting events. You'll have the chance to interact with someone from another culture and share stories, laughter, and food.

When?
The institute is held in August and therefore the majority of activities will be held during this month. We have afternoon, evening, and weekend events.

Where?
The activities will be both on the NU campus in Evanston as well as in Chicago (mostly downtown).

Why?
Volunteers will give these new students opportunities to interact with many different people from NU and surrounding communities. This will help them adjust to American life and improve their English skills.

How?
Please e-mail us at elp@northwestern.edu for more information. American volunteers can also participate by joining the Community Council for International Students
