Who May Join ISI?
ISI is open to students who have been offered admission to a PhD or MFA program in Fall of 2018 at Northwestern University, but each student must first be nominated by his or her admitting department. Typically, either the admissions officer or Director of Graduate Studies nominates students to ISI between February 1 and April 18, 2018.
If space is available, ISI then extends an offer of admission to each nominated student directly. Some students may be placed on a waiting list initially, and then admitted once space becomes available. Please note that a student may be offered admission to ISI even before he or she has officially committed to enrolling at Northwestern.
If you have been accepted as a Ph.D or MFA student for Fall 2018, would like to particpate in ISI, and have not yet been contacted by our office, please contact your department's admissions officer and send an e-mail to the ISI staff (elp@northwestern.edu).
