• First time users, please contact us for an NUSites account.
• Once your account has been created, log in http://sites.northwestern.edu/wp-admin/ using your netID and password.
• From the main menu near the top left of the page, select My Sites (top left) -> [YOUR_NAME] -> Dashboard. This will bring you to the main dashboard which where you can design and content to your website.
• Pick a theme. A theme will affect the overall appearance of the website. From the menu on the left, select Appearance->Themes. Then scroll through the themes and click "Activate" on the one that you like.
• Select Appearance -> Customize. Depending on your theme, you may have several different options. Generally you'll be able to modify the title and tagline. Taglines are optional. The title should be your name.
• Edit your home page. From the left menu, select Pages -> All Pages. You should already have a home page created. This is the main landing page of your website. To edit the page, hover over "Home" and select edit. Here you can easily add text, pictures and media using the built in editor. Click "Publish" to finalize all your changes.
• To add a new page, select "Add New" under pages from the left menu. On the right you'll see a page attributes panel. Select "no parent" and "default template". If you want this page to be a sub page of an existing page, select the desired parent page from the parent menu. This will create a child page that will be selectable via a drop down menu from the parent page. Click "Publish" to finalize all your changes.
