Welcome to the redesigned website for the Linguistics Labs Documentation. This website will contain all the help files, tutorials, software, downloads and links that are relevant to the use of the Northwestern University Linguistics labs.

The Department of Linguistics hosts maintains several labs that allow researchers to conduct experiments. These lab spaces are located in Cresap Hall and Swift Hall. Each lab consists of several sound booths, high quality audio and video recording equipment as well as various experiment running software.

These lab spaces provide us with the capability of making high quality audio and video recordings in a noise-free, controlled environment. These audio and video recordings contribute to various areas of research including speech recognition, second language learning, speech perception and multiple language interaction among speakers of varying language backgrounds.
